Implant placement is performed under local anaesthetic, so you should feel no pain during the procedure. Some soreness and swelling in the days following is normal and manageable with over-the-counter pain relief. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the experience is.
The full process typically takes 6–9 months from placement to final crown, as the implant needs 3–6 months to integrate with the bone. The active treatment appointments are few; most of the time is simply waiting for healing. We will give you a clear timeline at your consultation.
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, dental implants can last 20 years or more — and many last a lifetime. The porcelain crown on top may need replacement after 15–20 years, but the titanium post itself is designed to be permanent.
